Shifting Reflections

Alice Blumenfeld and Assistant Professor Aurie Hsu performed a draft of Shifting Reflections at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Oberlin Conservatory’s Technology in Music and Related Arts Department as part of the performance Sound in the Round. The piece had been developed since December of last year, the work explored themes of memory, visual and sonic echoes, presence, distance, and ideas of embodied, imagined, and yet to be experienced nostalgia. Hsu created a soundscore as we developed the choreography, titled flutter. The duo received a standing ovation for the piece.
