Music Series at Musicologie
Abrepaso Flamenco presents their new flamenco music accompaniment series. Although many people tend to think of the dancer when they think of flamenco, the dancer is the visual representation of the beautiful and complex flamenco music. In our new music series, we celebrate the community and joy in making flamenco music in its traditional improvised settings.
In each 6-week session during our 2021-22 season, students will focus on learning a different element of flamenco accompaniment. Along with learning the techniques of each instrument, students will learn how to accompany dance and singing, and the myriad musical styles within flamenco. This series is great for musicians looking to expand their repertory and for students of flamenco who want to deepen their understanding of flamenco. Open to ages 13 and up. Students can take all the classes or the individual sessions in which they are interested.
Students will have the opportunity to be a part of the Abrepaso Flamenco Student Recital December 19th 7pm at the Beachland Ballroom. A $40 participation fee will need to be paid to Abrepaso to participate.
