Lectures

Flamenco serves as a window into cultural and sociological studies. Lectures can be presented in English or Spanish and give students first-hand and interactive exposure to this global music and dance form. Artistic Director Alice Blumenfeld’s extensive research into flamenco and her experience lecturing in universities make her an indispensable addition to courses on Spain, world dance, Hispanic Studies, and more.

Thank you SO very, very much for bringing your artistry to our students in the wonderful presentation and class. The students truly enjoyed participating and it was thrilling to see them so excited. I loved seeing their energy and the smiles on their faces and the many ‘ole’s!
— Karen Potter (Chair of the Dance Department, Case Western Reserve University)
That was a fantastic workshop today. Weaving in a taste of technique with personal excavation, all informed by tradition, cultural history, and flamenco as an agent of social change.
